Hi, I'm Michelle. Michelle Jessica Hunt to be exact, but you can call me Mimi. I was born September 2nd,1993, and raised In West Philadelphia. I am the youngest of four children. I attended Overbrook Educational Center(Elementary and Middle School), and went to Parkway West High School. I began working full time as an infant teacher straight out of High School. My favorite food from childhood til now is macoroni and cheese. I love to laugh! I always see the positive in any situation. I guess you can call me optimistic. The glass is half full to me, not empty.
You may be wondering where the name "Mimi" came from. Well, my mom never liked the nicknames "Chelle" or "Chelly" so she called me Mimi. I like blasting music at it's highest volume and singing loudly, even if I don't know the words. I like surprising people, but it's hard to keep the surprise a secret. I like to shop alone, but I hate dressing rooms. My hobbies are writing, cooking and singing of course.
I love music. Everything about it! I began singing at the age of 5, but that was only in my school's Christmas play. I didn't start singing publicly until I was 14. I told myself if no one liked my voice, I'd just open my own daycare center and never sing again. But God had another plan. I finally decided to stop holding back the gift that God gave to me and share it with the world. The reactions I get from people encourage me and make me want to continue on in this music journey.
My mission/goal as an artist is to create music that people can relate to. I am a Christian and I am also a human being. I go through life situations just like everyone else. But how I get through them is what makes me different. God is the only one who can help me through.
"I want people to be able to hear themselves through my music, but see God through me."
